CABLE CROSSING

SO, WHERE AM I?

So……  you have done the row on your cable where you twist the stitches.

Then you have knitted some more rows (keeping in pattern, of course)!

You are supposed to twist the stitches every 8th row, how do you know how many rows you have done since your last twist row?

If you have only done 6 rows, your cable will be shorter, with a tighter twist, and not look like the others…..

If you have done 10 rows, your cable will be longer and not look right either…..

Here is how to know what row you are on.

Look at your cable

You will see a stitch that is tight and horizontal.  That was the row that you twisted your stitches last.  Count your stitches above that stitch to see how many rows you have done since you twisted.  When you have 8 above that horizontal one, you are ready to do a twist row!

If you place a marker on your twist row, and keep track with a counter how many rows you have done, you can notice just how many rows you have done and see exactly what that looks like.
After some practice you won't need a counter anymore!
