The 2-stitch twist is
exactly what the name implies: 2 stitches that are twisted!
In the cable hat lessons you will be doing the 2-stitch twist on either
side of your 6-stitch cable, separated by 2 purl (reverse stockinette)
stitches.
The twisted stitches
look like a mini-cable. The are always flanked on either side by rev. st.
st. (purl stitches), so that the mini-cable stands out and has a more
three-dimensional look.
Work the desired
stitches on your work up to the two stitches that you want to twist.
FOR A RIGHT
SLANT TWIST:
Insert your cable needle
into the first stitch and hold it to the BACK of your work.
Knit the next stitch on your left needle, then knit the stitch from your
cable needle.
FOR A LEFT SLANT
TWIST:
Insert your cable needle
into the first stitch and hold it to the FRONT of your work.
Knit the next stitch on your left needle, then knit the stitch from your
cable needle.
