2010 LACE KNIT ALONG

JULY PATTERN

WRIST WARMERS!
Pattern by Grannie Linda
Stitch used: Adapted from Vogue Knitting Stitchionary 5
# 67 – “Crystal Chandelier”
The class model made with:
1) Vanna’s Choice worsted weight yarn: color 101 – “pink”
The 3.5 oz. package was more than enough to make one pair.
Total weight of model warmers: 2 oz.
Finished length: 7 inches. Circumference at top of warmer is about 9”.
Needles size 6 for a gauge of 4 sts. = 1” in lace pattern.
You may use double points, 2 circulars, or the “Magic Loop” method.
Sized to fit an average woman’s hand. For a larger or smaller warmer you can change your needle size up or down.

Cast on 36 stitches. If you are using double points, cast 12 stitches on each of three needles.
If you are using 2 circs or magic loop, cast on 18 stitches for each side of mitt.
Work in K1/P1 ribbing (or K2/P2 ribbing, if desired) for 3 inches (about 20 rounds) or length desired. Knit one round.
Begin chart. Repeat chart 4 times around wrist warmer. When entire chart is completed, (be sure to work last row of chart – row 26 – by knitting around!) work 1 purl round. Then work 1 knit round. Finally work 1 purl round (this is garter stitch “in the round”). Bind off loosely in knit.
